ABOUT WALKING WITH AMERICA
“Learn to enjoy every minute of your life. Be happy now. Don’t wait for something outside of yourself to make you happy in the future.”
In an all-too-confusing and increasingly stressful world, filled with social isolation and disconnection, I believe that the walk will be an antidote to the negativity prison caused by an upset world. It’s time for us all to join together in one EPIC journey to improve our health, our happiness, and our lives! There are so many people with good hearts that can help me along this journey, letting their beauty shine and working together to transform lives. Ultimately, what makes Walking With America so unique is that walkers will have their own personal stake and their own gains. They themselves will be igniting and sustaining a sense of happiness as a result of the positive energy from everyone who participates. Our tagline is: WALK WITH ME!
I’ve found that problems do not get much of my energy or attention because I believe that what you focus on is what you get more of. Given that, why not focus on more of the things you want? The walk is simply doing what I love—if I do more of it, I have faith that many great things will ripple outwards! If I am able to help in any way while on the road walking, it will be through sharing good vibes by spending more time simply “being” myself—believe me, I have more than enough happiness, encouragement, support, motivation, and positive energy to go around!
- On average, nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States. Over the course of one year, this equates to over 10 million women and men.
- Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the U.S., the 3rd leading cause of death for people aged 10–14, and the 2nd leading cause of death for people aged 15–24.
- Each day, an estimated 18-22 veterans die by suicide.
- On any given day, teens in the United States spend about nine hours using media for their enjoyment, according to the report by Common Sense Media, a nonprofit focused on helping children, parents and educators navigate the world of media and technology.
- According to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the average American spends 93% of their life indoors. 87% of their life is indoors, then another 6% of their life in automobiles. That’s only 7% of your entire life outdoors. That’s only one half of one day per week outdoors. Ouch.
- Approximately 1 in 5 adults in the U.S.—43.8 million, or 18.5%—experiences mental illness in a given year.
Instead of focusing on a money-related cause, the driving force behind Walking With America is grounded in simply helping people live better, healthier, happier, and ultimately, more fulfilled lives. For me, I just want to walk and walk—and of course, walk some more— while knowing that the universe will bring together all the resources necessary that will help me make a powerful impact on the world. While Walking With America, I can laugh and engage with people of all ages, creating personal connections and a space to become our best selves— and to do it together.
I do plan to take gifts/sponsorships through a GO FUND ME page which will allow me to meet and greet as many groups along the way at places like hospitals, Boys and Girls Clubs, Senior Centers, etc. In fact, a few groups have already asked me to bring in my stroller and show the children what supplies are needed when a person walks across America. How fun—I can’t wait!
When I receive donations, I want to buy gifts for children in the color yellow with the Walking With America signature. It is my intention to inspire people to walk, talk, laugh, and smile—even long after I leave them. If I am lucky enough to make donations back to the groups because of the generous donations of others, I certainly will be excited to do so! I know there are already so many amazing organizations in the world that do good, and I would be honored to contribute a tiny bit more through Walking With America.

About Sheryl Lynn
Sheryl Lynn is the gratitude-filled mother of three beautiful daughters who has pursued one major ambition— happiness—with all the passion she could muster. This thirst drove her to figure out a way to fill her days with peace, joy, love, fun, and abundance. She’s been on a continuous search for understanding and tools to live in the moment and to participate in this grand life with a genuine smile on her face.
Life has been a roller coaster for Sheryl. There has been series of ups and downs in all areas of her life, from business startups and failures, to broken relationships, to many crushed hopes and dreams along the way. Remarkably, through it all, she never gave up her pursuit of knowing that she could live an amazing life and manifest anything she wanted.
Today, her young beautiful daughters are intelligent young ladies and starting families of their own. There is even one grandbaby, and this could not be sweeter! Newly married to Mike, her life partner of 16 years, she enjoys laughing together with her family and friends. Her love for being on the trail keeps her searching for the next mountain to climb.
As a radio show host for many years, Sheryl learned how to ask questions that drew out her guests to speak authentically about their life experience and wisdom. This experience created honest, human connections with her listening audience. That same rapport continues to be evident throughout the walk, and her excitement to meet all the amazing people along the way is incredibly powerful, beyond what words can express.
Sheryl’s positive energy and ability to focus on what’s working in life allowed her to fulfill her one ambition at last. Today, she’s living happily ever after and wants you to join her along the way!
